THE 2016 BISBEE ART CHAIRS & MORE AUCTION The 2016 Bisbee Art Chairs & More Auction will be held in conjunction with the 34th Annual Bisbee Home Tour, Friday-Saturday, Nov 25-26 Artworks must be delivered to the Serbian Hall, 216 Park Avenue in Bakerville (Warren District) from 10am to 12 noon & 4pm to 6pm on Wednesday, Nov 23 with the completed entry form. The silent auction beginning on Friday at 10am Nov 25 and closing on Saturday Nov 26 at 5pm. sharp. |
Rugby is returning to Bisbee and Warren Ballpark this year after a 100-year absence. The Friends of Warren Ballpark will be sponsoring a fundraiser match at 1 p.m. on Dec. 10 between the Tucson Lions of the Old Pueblo Rugby League and the Scottsdale Blues. Rugby football was played by English-speaking immigrants to Bisbee from 1905 through 1916. (As were soccer and cricket). Stay tuned for more information. The Bisbee High School baseball team will be selling carne asada plates at the match and there will be cold draft beer from Bisbee's own Beast Brewing. |

The Eighth Annual Copper City Classic Vintage base ball Tournament will be held April 8-9 2017 at Warren Ballpark. The Arizona Territories Vintage Base Ball League and the Friends of Warren Ballpark Tournament will again host the tournament. The tournament will be dedicated to two World War II veterans who played on the 1941 Bisbee Bees Minor League team before heading off to war: Clarence Maddern, Bisbee's first native born male player to make the Big Show and Bert Shepard, who, in 1945, served as a shining example to all badly wounded warriors that life was still worth living when they came home from battle.
